Nevidio Canyon is one of the most beautiful and most attractive canyons in Montenegro.
It is a part of the Mala Komarnica river, which rises at the foot of the southern slopes of
Durmitor, more precisely in Dobro Dol.
Plunging, it passes between the peaks of Boljski gred (2091 m.a.s.l.) and Lojanik (2091
m.a.s.l.) to reappear in a gentle valley
as a permanent river.
Mala Komarnica near the village of Duži merges with Pridvorica and creates Velika Komarnica,
which continues through the canyon until entering the artificial Pivsko lake
created by the construction of the Mratinje hydroelectric power plant.
Below Mratinje Piva flows another 10 km to the confluence with Tara, where together they
form
the Drina river.
Nevidio is about 2 km long. The entrance is located at 935 m, and the exit at 810 m above sea
level. 
Secluded and hidden in inaccessible terrain, it aroused attention and curiosity,
but there were few organized attempts to get to know and explore it.
The first serious attempts were made in 1957. and 1964, which were unsuccessful.
There were many strange and fantastic stories about the last unconquered canyon in Europe. 
It was like that until August 1965. when members of the P.S.D. Javorak from Nikšić,
although with meager equipment, passed the canyon and was the first to present to the world a
long-hidden,
wild and astonishing beauty.
